We offer an extensive selection of both new and used saddles to have professionally fitted to your horse. Any available used saddle on our shop page can be brought to a consultation to test for fitting and suitability. We also fit and supply, Equipe, Amerigo, Albion, Bates, Arena, Wintec and Black Country saddles from new.

We encourage that you have your saddle checked regularly in order to maintain correct fit as your horse naturally changes shape over time.

Saddle Fitting Terms & Conditions

To effectively assess the fit of a saddle, your horse must be ridden in an arena and be able to walk, trot and canter unless previously discussed and agreed before the consultation. Please allow up to 180 minutes for the duration of the consultation. In most cases 120 minutes will be sufficient to achieve a solution however more difficult horse/rider combinations may require a longer amount of time.

Consultation fees as well as milage fees will be invoiced prior to confirming a booking slot with us. It is only after we have confirmed that payment has been received will you be reserved your preferred appointment day and time in our calendar. By accepting these terms and conditions, you are ensuring that you will have means to pay for any of the potential fees that come as a result of a consultation which are all displayed below such as adjustments, which are required to be paid for in full on the day in which the service is carried out.

Any saddle must have its full balance paid in full before it can be released to a customer.

For new saddles, we may ask for a 30% deposit for standard spec saddles. For saddles that are customized, we may ask for a 50% deposit. This is non-refundable in the case of a ‘change of mind’ return.

Deposits are only refunded in the case of a new saddle not being suitable for the horse it was fitted to following the saddle’s trial session after its arrival from production. This may be in the way the saddle fits, a defect or a fault in the saddle.

Should you wish to return a new saddle, you must notify us within 14 days of receiving the saddle. If the saddle has been used in this time, then we may offer a partial refund. Returns are strictly not accepted in the case of misuse of the saddle which has resulted in damages to the saddle of any kind.

• Consultation to fit a new or used saddle: £79 (discounted to £59 per horse if a saddle is successfully fitted on the day when you come to our yard at LL12 0PA)
• Saddle check on a saddle previously fitted and supplied by BGS within 12 months of last visit at our yard: £65 (assessment only)
• Saddle check on a saddle not previously fitted/supplied by BGS at our yard or one that hasn’t not been seen by ourselves for over 12 months: £75 (assessment only)
• Gullet bar change: £15
• New gullet bar: £24.99
• Flocking adjustment: £30 (mediocre adjustments) £45 (large adjustments)
• Tree width adjustment for wooden tees: £30
• Milage fee: £1.50 per mile (one way)

Cancellation policy: 48 hours notice is required prior to your appointment. If a cancellation is made with less than this amount of time as notice, then a £50 fee will be charged.
