Ben Griffiths is a fully qualified, independent saddle fitter and trained with the International Academy of Saddle Fitters at 18 years of age, working as a full time fitter since. Ben has had experience riding various horses since the age of 4 and still competes in the discipline of showjumping with the BSJA since he started 11 years ago.

“I began my riding journey at 4 years old with a Shetland pony before I would then go onto discovering my preferred discipline which was showjumping on a cob named Charlie. Today, I regularly compete with the BSJA on my own horses and have done for the past 11 years.

My early experiences with saddles were not the best. After spending nearly 12 months finding a saddle suitable for one of my previous ponies, I began to take an interest in how saddles fit and how they worked. I started this business when I was 15 with about 5 saddles and at 18 years old I became a qualified saddle fitter with the IASF. Today we stock over 130 used saddles as well as offering new saddles alongside a wide range of other saddlery products with some of the top brands in the industry.

My favourite aspect of this industry is the complexity of saddle fitting. I enjoy the process of finding the right saddle for each combination of horse and rider with no two combinations ever being the same.”
