Adjustable gullet arrangement

The interchangeable gullet-bar arrangement gives flexibility if a different bar is needed. The medium black bar is fitted at present, while other gullet bars are available to swap. As with any saddle, the correct fit depends on the individual horse and rider, so professional saddle fitting is worth arranging before regular use.

The deep seat and fixed knee blocks give this saddle its recognisable dressage layout, while the dual flap provides a straightforward traditional configuration. Flocked panels are also included in the construction, allowing the saddle to be assessed as part of the overall fitting process rather than relying on the gullet bar alone.

Condition and what is included

Although described as mint and like new, this remains a pre-owned saddle. It is supplied with a Fairfax cover, which is useful for keeping it protected during storage and travelling. The photographs provide a closer look at its current condition and finish.

For care, keep the saddle clean and dry and store it with suitable support. An appropriate routine for its surfaces will help maintain its appearance, while periodic attention to the gullet bar and fittings is sensible.

Who is it suited to?

This is a useful option for a rider looking for a black Fairfax dressage saddle with a 17-inch seat and an adjustable gullet arrangement. Its deep seat, fixed knee blocks and flocked panels make it a clearly defined dressage model, while the included cover adds a practical extra for storage and transport.
